inks, sprays, stamps, powders, collections, kits...oh my! i have been buried alive by stacks and boxes of scrapbooking goodies (and i'm sooo not complaining about that, btw)...my gripe is solely with my lack of organization. it's just not like me to pile things all over the place and yet, here we are.
my current issue is mainly with stamps and inks and stuff because i've been unable to commit to a plan of attack. but i finally did! i love the idea of using a binder for acrylic stamps but i know that i'd need either a very large bulky binder or a whole heckuvalotta regular binders for that.
i do like to have open containers of 'like' items...my stamps are currently organized this way and that's working for me but there are a lot of them and its taking longer and longer for me to flip through them...so. here's what i did...
i found these cute little binders at big lots for $2 a piece a few months ago (i bought a few of them because even though i don't use them to organize my supplies, i LOVE them for other stuff.) they hold pages that measure about 5 x 8 inches...i made my pages 5 x 7 for this project though...not sure why. i guess i just like odd numbers? hmm.
so here's the binder:
the pages (and divider pages too) are just plain white cardstock i bought at target. the dividers were made using oa mini market-kraft alpha stickers (they are my new favorite alpha)...
the first section is spray mists: i punched squares of white cs and kraft cs (i use kraft a lot so it's helpful for me to see what the mists look like on kraft)...i did a color family per page so i have plenty of room to grow ;) this is the greens...and pay no attention to the pencil lines there, that's just my raging case of ocd rearing its ugly head again, lol...but seriously, there's nothing more crippling than crooked swatches. that was kind of a joke :)
then there's the ink section: i did the punches of white and kraft here as well, for the same reasons as the mists and seperated them by color family also...
embossing powders are the same type of deal as the others except i'm just going to just add to the same page instead of dividing into color families...i know i won't end up with 8 shades of the same color embossing powder. i'm too lazy for that much embossing... ha!
now for the stamps...i have dividers for the following sections: alphas/numbers, borders, backgrounds, sets (this one has sub-categories by theme- more on that in a sec), and then october afternoon sets. i stamped all of them out because it's faster for me to see the size and coverage of them this way as opposed to looking at the stamp itself.
alphas/numbers:
sets: (outdoors/nature, love, geometric shapes, doilies, home/handmade, frames/labels, words/phrases, travel)
i'm interrupting for a second to just throw this out there...i freaking love the doily stamp set by my mind's eye...omg. love.
that's all so far :) it was a lengthy undertaking for sure but it's made my creative process a little less timely so it was worth it.
hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend!
hugs, kins
