so with all the awesome project life, december daily, week in the life...etc. type projects floating around all my favorite blogs and sites lately, i've been feeling the pull to commit to something along those lines. but honestly? i suck at sticking with those types of things...i start out with the best of intentions and then have major guilt and self-loathing when i inevitably and gloriously fail at follow through. so i decided i'm going to do it my own way and keep things loose for my own sanity...btw, HUGE props to everyone who's hanging with their project life and december dailys! and HUGE thanks for posting those because they're so freakin' inspiring...
here's my game plan...when the mood hits, i'm going to jot down what i'm doing at the moment, snap a few shots and then one of two options will go down:
1) i'll drop everything and commit it to paper (this is the optimistic and slightly unrealistic option for me, but i'll be so stoked if this one happens, ha!)
OR
2) i'll get it done sometime soon-ish (this is what will most likely happen...but it'll be super easy because i'll have pics and journaling ready to go. i like #2.)
i've already put this plan into action and here are my currents from december 2, 2011 (also should mention that the days i do this will be totally random and impromptu...the easier and less restricted, the better for me.)
(you can click on the image to make it bigger)
i probably won't be doing a ton of stitching (if any) on my 'currents' layouts because i want it to be something quick and spontaneous (2 concepts that are totally outside of my box).
a little bit about the construction of this one: i used my silhoutte and software to make the stacked words (just typed a few phrases and welded them together and hit cut). the whole layout is an 8.5 x 11 double pager and i knew i wanted the text to span almost all the way across the 2 pgs so the cut file is 11 inches in width. i used the cut out as a mask with some mister huey's and i also misted a few of the wooden asterisks (LOVE). i stamped the prompts and then hand journaled next to each one, printed a few of the pics 2 x 2 inch squares and called it a day! this is probably the fastest double page layout that i've ever done. ever.
it felt good. strike that. really good. about an hour and 15 minutes for everything- printing pics, cutting the text, and journaling.
here are a couple of close ups...
hope your weekend has gotten off to a great start so far! i got my sc january kits a few days ago so i'll be hunkering down and getting my scrapbook on and i'm really excited about this month because with the holiday break from school, my gallery is going to be full!
