Hey Everyone! Welcome to my leg of the Studio Calico Blog Blitz! As most of y'all know, SC just released 3 new lines:
Take Note- think office supplies but with a fresh and fun color palette, Abroad- a traveler's dream line done the SC way, and Classic Calico 2- awesome neutrals that work flawlessly with anything and everything just as well as they work on their own.
All three collections are available in the online store now along with matching Mister Huey's, awesome stamp sets, and tons of fun embellishments so be sure to check those out! But first, I have a little project to share that I made using mostly Take Note, but with bits from Abroad and Classic Calico 2 thrown in for good measure (they mix really well with eachother- love that!).
So, being that my obsession with Hipstamatic and Instagram has reached fever pitch- I needed a place to keep hard copies of all of my pics...here's what I came up with:
I made a mini album of sorts using a sheet of chipboard and a 2 pronged file fastener from the office supply store.
Here's a shot of the binding and those fabulous veneer asterisks (I used a fabrip to hold the chipboard covers together.)
Coin pocket pages cut to size and filled with contact sheet prints of my instagram pics.
FYI: see that wood veneer butterfly in the top right corner? I used the lattice background stamp there and double stamped the image and it made this cool lace like look...fun!
Since the coin pockets are pretty small, I used a few of the filler pages from the SC journals to jot down captions of each of the photos.
I also mixed in some baseball card page protectors for larger blocks...to cut them down, I used my craft knife and a metal ruler- super simple!
