hey everyone! i know i'm wayyyy late getting this posted but better late than never, eh?
i got all of the add ons again this month because studio calico makes it impossible to decide :) they always knock it out of the park and i love everything. this was a crazy month for me family wise- sam deployed for a 3 week tdy which always has a way of bringing out the gray hairs, ha! i only had enough time to do 3 layouts but i love how they turned out!
here's my main kit only layout:
supplies || hero arts soft sand ink pad, tiny attacher & refills, tombow mono multi glue, acrylic block, piercer, more kraft, staz on jet black.
i love this one because it documents where we are currently with technology. i was goofing off with my iphone and asked siri if she was jealous of my ipad and her response cracked me up...i did a screen shot of it and included it on the layout. i used the just a note stamp to make a custom printed cardstock for the background and then added strips of patterned paper to the bottom on an angle and a little stitching to hold everything in place.
six string & five and dime add ons
supplies || staz on jet black ink, piercer, tombow mono multi glue, craft knife, white woodgrain, black pen .01, foam dots, acrylic block.
this one started with a steve jobs quote and a photo of beezy taken during one of our walks. i made a wavy template with a piece of scrap cardstock and traced the line at 1 inch intervals down the page. i did the stamping first and then added the patterned paper pieces to the top and bottom along with stitching in between each section/line. the stamping area was kind of stark so i used my craft knife to cut the centers out of the stamped letters and then backed it with patterned paper. I also punched some little circles out of the october afternoon patterned paper and added another wavy line using the punches at the top.
main + all 4 add ons
supplies || staz on jet black, acrylic block, mister hueys: passport, gold, pinstripe, brad setter and piercer, black journaling pen, color bee scissors, foam dots, tombow mono multi glue.
every quarter, as soon as i get my new books, i stack them up and take a pic of them. last week was my first week back to school for my last quarter here before we head out to charleston. i used the triangle stamps to create a collage of different patterns, textures and colors on the background and i love how it turned out. lots of cutting and stamping went on with this one and my hands were so tired after it was all said and done! one of my favorite techniques lately is to use mister hueys as water colors, i use a paint brush and some water and mix a few drops of mister hueys with a few drops of water on my palette and then paint away! love how it looks :)
thanks so much for stopping by! did y'all get what you wanted at reveal?!
xo, kins
